I thought I'd post a little update on my log cabin afghan I'm working on...
My progress has been a bit slow. So, this past week, I told myself a square a day and it will be done in no time. I love seeing the finished results of a project and am always anxious to get there!
With the end result in mind, I've been thinking of ways I could lay it out and found this little WEBSITE that shows a few different options. I'm leaning toward the Field and Furrows, but they are all really cool. There are other sites if you google log cabin layout, but I liked hers as she is using an actual project versus computer generated images.
Wish me luck as I continue to "build" my cabin.
Hope you are finding fun ways to "stay cool"!
It's excruciatingly hot here!

Great progress Heather!
ReplyDeleteReally Nice job Heather! I love your color selections.. It is brutally hot here.. Did you see Dawn's log cabin from Fiddlesticks also a very nice color combo..I am going to copy that pattern off for my list of things to do someday! LoL...stay cool my friend
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of afghan patterns--so homelike and inviting. Hot here too with high humidity. Hope you're having a great week. Take care...
ReplyDeleteGood luck Heather. Your squares look nice so far. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Heather. Your log cabin blocks are looking great. I have done a log cabin quilt before. Actually a couple.
ReplyDeleteIt is hot here too. UGH...I am ready for winter!!
Thanks ladies. :-)
ReplyDeleteNeicee, I did see Fiddlesticks' log cabin, it's really neat. :-)
Kris, I hear you! Winter is sounding really good about now. lol! :-)
I love your log cabin!!Looks good so far!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hot here all year long. Your log cabin is coming along nicely. Lincoln logs -- brings back memories. My brother and I played with them lots when we were little. Have a great day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteYes, it's very hot, but it always is here - our summers are long and relentless - another reason I've got to move up north...your log cabin afghan will be beautiful. Very rustic looking - like a quilt almost, only crocheted. Is it a gift or are you doing it just to do one? I've never done one like this - it looks like there is a lot of sewing involved and that's not my favorite activity!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your progress!
Stay cool!
Love,
Doris and Gizzy
I just love those squares I cant wait to see it all done :o)
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is JoAnn and I found your site through Morningstar Academy's site (Tina). I love this crochet project. I would never thought of doing something like this. Very creative. :)
