Big 4-6

This past weekend, I celebrated another b-day.  Funny how they creep up on you.  Hubby gave me the pretty spring cake, it was very good.

On Saturday, we took about an hour road trip to Clifton, Ohio.  It's a little historic town that has an old mill where you can enjoy a meal.  Their pancakes were humongous!  I had mine with blueberries.

The mill sits right on the edge of a small gorge...

I was hoping to walk around the town a bit and there is also a nature trail that takes you down by the water, but it was raining so we had to enjoy what we could from the porch and window of the mill.

As I've mentioned before, we've been doing a lot of work around the house.  Yesterday, we got some bare patches in the yard tilled and grass seed planted.

As you can see, we still need to clean out the beds and have this waiting for us in the drive...

Nothing like fresh mulch to give the house some good curb appeal.

Luckily we've had a warm spring.  My irises have already started to bloom and it's only mid-April!

Cleaning out the landscaping beds is on the agenda for tonight.  If daylight holds out, we'll start to mulch.

Hope all is well in your neighborhood!

This and That

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend.  We went over to my sisters for dinner and an egg hunt.  It was nice not to have to cook.

We have a morning dove nest in our weeping cherry tree out front.  Can you see her sitting in her nest?  She blends in pretty well with the color of the tree.  They tried it there two years ago and something got the eggs and the nest.  Hopefully this year we'll have some baby birds.  The male bird is never too far away, keeping a watchful eye on his little family.

Over the weekend, we got a few things checked off our house selling TO DO list.  Hubby and I installed new outside lights to the front of our home Friday evening.  Then on Saturday, we painted; I cut in and the hubster rolled.  We made a good team.

I think painting is on the agenda for next weekend too.

I don't know if any of you ever watch that House Hunter program on HGTV, but I've found it helpful to see what the buyers point out as they go through the homes.  I even have dear hubby watching the programs with me.

:-)

I have to admit, with trying to wrap up school for the year and getting the house "spruced up", my crochet hook has had to sit on the side lines.  Don't worry though, I still love crochet and once we get all our ducks in a row, I'll be back to my crochet work.

Hope you have a great week.

"Spring is the time of plans and projects."
- Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina -

That is what I have been up to.
Making plans and creating lists of projects that need to be done.

The plan is in the next 30 - 45 days to have a "For Sale" sign in our yard.

I've also been looking on-line at houses for sale in the area where we'd like to move.  There are a couple that really interest dear husband and me...
time will tell what the future holds.

Hope your week if full of fun plans and projects!
