I was up and about early this morning trying to get things done so that I'd have some time later this afternoon to work on the Fisherman Basketweave. I'm on the final repeat section and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The sun is shining brightly, but it's a cold frosty day. Hubby is feeling a little under the weather, so I thought I'd bake some BANANA BREAD...
and make some TORTILLA SOUP in the crock pot for dinner this evening...
Nothing tastes better than soup when you aren't feeling well. I used some leftover Thanksgiving turkey I had in the freezer in place of the chicken.
Did you notice my Christmas cactus in the bread picture? I got that at Kroger the other day; $7.99 didn't seem like too much to spend in order to bring a little color indoors this time of year.
And, it brings a smile to my face when I look at it.
:-)
Hope your week is rounding out well.

Oh, the banana bread looks so yummy. We were frosty today too, but sunny. I have a pot of potato ham soup simmering on the stove. It will be good to warm up a bit with it. I hope you got to work on your blanket more. :)
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteLots of folks seem to be under the weather at the moment. Your banana bread looks perfect and soup always does a body good when it is cold and frosty. Hope your Friday is fabulous. Tammy
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious! I like the Christmas cactus. I have one that I haven't been able to kill like most of the houseplants I've had. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to be at your house! Bet it smells devine.
ReplyDeleteI tried leaving a comment earlier this week without sucess. Anyway yes the crochet is FPDC and BPDC. It was my first try and I think it would actually look better with a finer yarn. It is so fun to do and I love the texture and the look of it.
The bread and soup look delicious. I hope you had time to work on the blanket. Take care of hubby.
